This is what I've been up to the past two weeks or so in Shanghai, getting rudely shouted at and pushed around more than I've ever been all at the same time. Nahh, I kid. We didn't really get caught in the crowd - taxis were obviously the easier way out (cab fares are little to none). Plus, more than half the time I couldn't understand what they were hollering about. I may have taken higher chinese in secondary school, but looking at how badly I struggled through the subject, I'm pretty much useless when it comes to this language.

Despite the lack of internet access (complete to zero) and the weather which was absolutely bonkers, I'm quite happy with how this trip turned out. Oh I even managed to pick up some nice accessories and clothing, surprise! Still feels good to be back; I'm glad to finally have access to the websites I frequent!

15th june: mid month, mid year. Too many days are slipping away into forgotten little spaces at the back of my mind. So many emotions, different people, always the same questions. How have you been? when are you leaving? It's as though we're all running our own battle ever since school ended and we had a "common" goal. We both know what we need to do but that doesn't mean we're going to do it; it just means it's another round of playing pretend, and another round of good-for-nothing pride.

Leaving for shanghai tomorrow, will be back on the 28th. I'm 2/3rds done packing for the trip. I've been half looking forward yet half dreading this trip for a very long time, mainly because it's really another excuse to get away and lose track of time, place, people, whatever. However attractive it is I think I'll still feel cut off from civilization since they block almost everything... So over the next two weeks we'll be meeting old family friends, friends' girlfriends/boyfriends/husbands/wives.. the people meeting aspect itself is a little overwhelming but otherwise there's going to be a lot of wandering around and shopping which makes me pretty happy in all.

I was supposed to be in bed almost an hour ago, but I got distracted and finally started planning for my Shanghai trip. anyway, this time we'll be staying at granddad's apartment. Thinking about it got me slightly choked up and I wish we could be going there with him this time :'( It's funny how as time passes I start to think about him less and less, but every time I do, the feeling of missing him gets more and more. Ah well, it's 10:50pm and I'm slightly woozy and I'm getting all sentimental by myself here haha. sometimes I wish that he's still around and I could just sit by his side, tell him bout my day and what I've been up to and he'd listen patiently and ask me about driving lessons and how's work? and what's the latest thing I've drawn? Dayyym I really miss granddad now :(

Anyway, two things that I wanted to share...

Michelle introduced this movie to us and despite a very cliche storyline and rather tacky scripting at certain parts I'm pretty sold by it! The whole feeling through the movie was very raw and real.. and it really tugged at my heartstrings haha. It started off pretty slowly but the ending really got to me. Needless to say we all cried bucket fulls. Heh.

Can't remember where I found this but Liu Wen looks gorgeous here. She's one of my favourite models, so awkward and innocent yet adorable right? Honestly I don't really have a clue as to what this short film's about but there's this nice aesthetic coherence about it and she looks sooo sophisticated in here!
